FAQ
We are driven by the passion to bring healthy movement into the world.
Many good reasons
We won't stop until the world rediscovers its natural walking senses and starts moving again. A growing team of doctors, scientists, physical therapists and medical professionals are working to "reconnect" the feet to the brain.
What are barefoot shoes? - +
Barefoot shoes are shoes that are designed to promote the benefits of natural walking. Ultra-thin puncture-resistant sole, no footbed, no cushioning, no height difference between heel and forefoot and a spacious toe box are the features of our barefoot shoes. We also pay attention to sustainability, high-quality materials and first-class workmanship when producing our barefoot shoes.
Why wear barefoot shoes? - +
If you walk with barefoot shoes, after a period of getting used to them you will notice how your balance improves, your foot muscles become stronger and your gait becomes more natural. Barefoot shoes can help reduce the strain on your joints and promote general foot health.
We are happy to support you with your first steps with the barefoot shoes .
Are barefoot shoes suitable for everyone? - +
In principle, barefoot shoes are suitable for everyone, but a natural gait is a basic requirement and you can learn to do so. You can find help with this in our guide to walking with barefoot shoes .
Take your time getting used to them. It all depends on what shoes your feet were used to and how they supported your foot muscles. By the way, barefoot shoes do not have to be worn without socks, as the name of the shoes might initially suggest. You decide what is most comfortable for you.
Of course, there are also people for whom barefoot shoes are unsuitable due to medical conditions and people for whom going barefoot is not recommended by doctors. If you are unsure about this, please ask an orthopedist or physiotherapist.
Are barefoot shoes suitable for people with insoles? - +
Barefoot shoes can in principle be worn with flexible insoles, but you will not benefit much from walking barefoot. The arch supports of the insoles are counterproductive in barefoot shoes.
It is best to contact your orthopedist or physiotherapist to clarify whether you are generally allowed to go barefoot. Then there is nothing to stop you from gradually using our barefoot shoes without an insole to train your foot muscles.
Are barefoot shoes suitable for everyday use? - +
The most natural way of moving is to walk without shoes, to walk barefoot. Our barefoot shoes give you almost the same effect as walking barefoot, but with shoes. Barefoot shoes are therefore your perfect everyday companion. If you are wearing barefoot shoes for the first time, we recommend our guide to walking .
We also offer advice in our shops and in online sessions.
In our online shop you will find a large selection of barefoot shoes for everyday use in the Everyday category.
Are barefoot shoes suitable for sports? - +
In general, it is better if your feet are already used to barefoot shoes before you start exercising. We recommend that you wear barefoot shoes in everyday life first. This is because your body is used to a highly cushioned sole from conventional sports shoes, which means that the body's own cushioning is used less. Barefoot shoes are uncushioned and ensure that the body's own cushioning is trained and strengthened. A natural running technique with barefoot shoes is particularly important when running.
In our online shop in the Outdoor categories you will find the right shoe for many different sports.
Let our Superbarefoot service team support you.
Are barefoot shoes suitable for winter? - +
Yes, barefoot shoes are also suitable for winter. There are special models that have an insulating layer or warming material to protect the feet from the cold without affecting the barefoot-like feeling. Take a look around our online shop .
Are barefoot shoes suitable for children? - +
Barefoot shoes are particularly suitable for children because they support the natural gait and promote healthy foot development and thus healthy growth of the feet.
In addition, barefoot shoes for children promote better perception of the ground and thus improve body coordination and motor skills. These are all important prerequisites for a healthy body for your child.
Does your child wear insoles? In principle, flexible insoles can be used in barefoot shoes, but this could reduce the positive effect of walking barefoot. Insoles to support the arch of the foot are not ideal in this case.
We recommend that you ask an orthopedist or physiotherapist whether walking barefoot is advisable for your child. If this is the case, there is nothing to stop you gradually using our barefoot shoes without insoles to strengthen the foot muscles.
Take a look around our online shop , you are sure to find the right model for your child.
How do I choose the right size? - +
To find your correct VIVOBAREFOOT size, you can follow these 3 steps:
Take a sheet of A4 paper and place it on the floor with the narrow side resting against a door frame (please not against the wall, as the skirting board will distort the result).
Now step onto the sheet with one foot so that your heel rests on the door frame and carefully mark a line at the height of your big toe with a ruler. Make sure to put weight on your foot.
Now measure the distance between the end of the blade and the mark and add 1cm so that the foot does not hit the end of the shoe.

How do I care for and clean the barefoot shoes? - +
Care depends on the material of the shoes. Many can be cleaned with a damp cloth and dried in the air. Please do not put the barefoot shoes in the washing machine or dryer, as this can damage the material.
